CAMP MADRON
BUCHANAN, MICHIGAN 1988

Formerly a boy scout campground, Camp Madron was converted into a second home community, with 50 home sites located within the 360 acres. Centered around a 60 acre spring fed lake, the common areas include a lodge, beach area, and fruit tree orchards. An existing lodge was renovated and outfitted with a community dining area and commercial kitchen. Three prototypical houses, all inspired by Shaker simplicity and discipline, were designed and built on various sites.

LODGE

The original boyscout lodge was restored into a common area for the entire Madron community.

HOUSES

Three house types were developed and built on the grounds.
