ASTOR STREET RESIDENCE
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS 1997

This 10,500 sf adaptive reuse of two buildings in an historic landmark district provided for an extended family residence. The project featured a central, skylit stairwell that allowed daylight to penetrate deep into the party-walled interiors.

Completed in conjunction with the design/build firm, KGP Construction.

Wood Wall

A gently curving wood veneer wall separates the interior rooms from the stairwell. Generous openings in the wall borrow light from the stair.
