LINCOLN PARK RESIDENCE
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS 1996

Overlooking Lincoln Park, a 7,500sf full floor cooperative apartment was gutted and rebuilt in a manner consistent with the prior plan and architectural language. The upper floor apartment is encircled by new replacement windows that capitalize on generous exposures to daylight.

Dining Room

The dining room's formality is mitigated by diverse seating arrangements.

Living Room

Encircled by the primary furniture arrangement, the custom fabricated stone fireplace mantel repeats the profiles of the crown and base within the room.

Living Room

As a City of Chicago Landmark property, all windows were replaced to match original configurations, albeit with high performance insulated glass.

Living

Inspired by the low ceiling heights, the shallow profiles of the crown moulding repeat throughout the residence, visually heightening the rooms.

Entry Hall

The generously sized entry hall occupies the center of the apartment. The hall flanks the public rooms that overlook Lincoln Park.

Library

Located off of the Living Room, the Library enjoys a spectacular view and daylight.

Plan - Before

This plan illustrates the plan before rehabilitation.

Plan - After

Note the "S" shaped connection at the knuckle of the two wings which resolved adjacent room geometries.
